Showcase Sunday (#20)

Posted March 24, 2013 by Emma in Blog / 23 Comments

Showcase Sunday is a weekly meme hosted by Vicky at Books, Biscuits & Tea.
Its an opportunity to highlight our newest books or book related swag and to see what everyone else received for review, borrowed from libraries, bought in bookshops and downloaded onto eReaders each week.
I’ve had a very busy couple of weeks both personally and book-wormy. I’ve had a brilliant week with books through the post! One that I totally screamed when I received it through the letterbox and on my email!
For Review:
The Secret of Ella and Micha by Jessica Sorensen
Spellcaster/Spellbound by Cara Lynn Shultz
Infamous by Sherrilyn Kenyon
Bought:
Clockwork Princess by Cassandra Clare
Borrowed:
The Host by Stephiene Meyer
eGalleys/eBooks/Edelweiss:

The Collector by Victoria Scott
Beautiful Disaster/Walking Disaster by Jamie McGuire
Dear Cassie by Lisa Burstein
The Edge of Never by J.A. Redmeaski
MILA 2.0 by Debra Driza
Daimon by Jennifier L. Armentrout
 Reboot by Amy Tintera
Now you can say that I have had a double whammy of fan-girling. Number One is Clockwork Princess…OMG I think myself and many others have definitely been waiting for this a while, especially this week I have seen a constant flux of reviews of CP! I can’t wait to start this today! Number Two is The Collector, (swooning of the cover) I literally screamed over receiving the email! The Host is one that I’ve been a little reluctant to read ever since it came out… For me at first it was a bit heavy at the time, so I think I will give it a go again (possibly because of the film as well). I’m been assured that Jamie McGuire’s books are brilliant, so I was pleased to have been accepted for Walking Disaster. I’ve been chatting to Kayleigh from K-Books a lot this week, mostly about JLA’s books and after much persuading I decided to start the Covenant series.
So a Special Thanks to Harlequin  HarperCollins UK,  Atom, Mira Ink, Little Brown, Entangled Teen and Atria Books!

Well… What do you think? Have you read any of these novels? I would love to know… Leave me a link to your Sunday Post and I will be sure to see what you received!?

  1. OH MY GOD EMMAAAAA!! AWESOME BOOK HAUL! The Collector looks so fantastic, and I've heard nothing but positive things about Clockwork Princess. My friend just let me borrow The Host, but like you, I am a little hesitant to start the massive novel. I am a MASSIVE fan of JLA too, but haven't read the Covenant series. Man, there are sooo many books I still need to get to. Luckily I can buy them cheaper now I have Monty! 😉

I really hope you enjoy all of your awesome new books, Emma!!!

My haul if you want to stop by: Wow, fantastic haul, Lucy! Infinite Sky sounds really good, and I love the cover for it. You're right about Shatter Me, the hype for it has been massive! I really need to get started on that series sometime soon to see what everyone is talking about. Wonder sounds like a real heart-wrencher! But I hear it's very well written.

I hope you enjoy all of your new books, Lucy. I can't wait to read your thoughts on them! 🙂

Oh, sooooooooooo jealous you have The Collector, lol. I'm really looking forward to that one. I requested The Edge of Never but I'm waiting to hear back. I have Mila on my Kindle to check out, and read Walking Disaster last week. Love the Covenant series. Oh, and I got Spellbound for free from the publisher, but as an ebook not print. WHat a great week you've had for books. Hope you enjoy them all. 😀

  3. Oh my word, you are so lucky. You've got some great reading to do 😀 I really want to start Clockwork Angel, I am reserving it at my local library. Happy Reading.

  4. I'm probably in the minority but I think The Host is Meyer's best book. Have been encouraging people at work not to disregard it as another Twilight.

  7. I hope you enjoy CP2, Emma! It didn't work out for me at all, but I sincerely hope you love it! 🙂 Also, I've heard tons of great things about The Collector, so I'm curious to see what you think of that one, and good luck for Beautiful Disaster! It's a hit-or-miss with most people, and I didn't like it, but maybe you will. Happy Reading, dear!(:

  8. OMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMG CLOCKWORK PRINCESS!!! 😀 I can definitely see why you were fangirling, Emma! 🙂 I have only read Clockwork Angel but I love this series nevertheless. 11. Amazing haul. Also got Clockwork Princess this week. Cannot wait to read that. Yay for the Edge of Never. I've read about half of it so far and it's really good.

Jealous over the Collector. I am dying to read that one.

I LOVED Clockwork Princess… though now it won't leave me alone! It's so hard to concentrate when all I can think about is Will and clockwork and that damn epilogue. 😉 I can't wait to see what you think! I hope you enjoy The Host and The Collector, too. The Host was a surprisingly good read for me. I liked it a whole lot more than Twilight.

    Enjoy your new books, lovely!

  13. Well that's one awesome haul, I'm totally jealous! Good to know I'm not that last person to read Beautiful Disaster though lol. I hope you love all your new reads!

Thanks for stopping by Book Cover Justice 🙂
