But now it’s summer break and she has nowhere else to go but home. Ella fears everything she worked so hard to bury might resurface, especially with Micha living right next door. Micha is sexy, smart, confident, and can get under Ella’s skin like no one else can. He knows everything about her, including her darkest secrets. And he’s determined to win back the girl he lost, no matter what it takes.
To begin with this was my first New Adult book that I’ve read…well in all honesty I really didn’t know what an NA book was until the beginning of this blog. I read and reviewed but I never took much notice. I’ve come of the age where NA are more suited to me now, but YA will be a favorite of mine. Anyways I’m rambling, onto my review…
The Secrets of Ella and Micha begins with a climatic moment between there relationship,
“Ella, I love – I crush my lips against his, hushing him and melting our bodies together…”
In Ella’s world, (or should I say worlds) she is two people. It felt like almost a Before and After transition throughout the book. Before; Ella was almost this fire cracker. She had soul, passion and she was fearful of everything around. She was Ella May. She was accepted, but she had family problems, her mum was a drug addict and felt low when she committed suicide. Her brother and father blame her for her death. That’s the tragic thing, nobody heard her…only Micha. After…eight months Ella May becomes the college girl, faced and followed by rules, smart, collected and secluded with her friend Lila. Do I prefer a persona, no! I think what I loved is how Jessica unites both persona’s into a unique Ella, a Ella resolved from problems, secrets and most of all Love!
When Ella returns to her hometown after eight months of collage, she didn’t know what to expect, especially from Micha. Micha has been going out of his mind trying to locate Ella, she left without a trace or convincing in anyone of where she went. When he sees her for the first time, relief and anticipation courses through his body. There is no lack of sexual tension in this book, so you won’t get bored of his ‘piercing blue eyes’ or his lip ring. The steamy hot relationship between is something you won’t forget, its gradual, which for was infuriating when all I want to say ‘Come On, Get together’ SAY YES!
“You’re crazy if you think that you can run off and change your identity. This unfeeling, preppy girl thing you got going on,” he motions his hand at my tank top, white frilly skirt, and curly hair, “is nothing but bull shit. You can’t just change who you are on the outside and expect it to change who you are on the inside.”
But that’s what made it even more intriguing and unforgettable. Micha’s character is nothing to be tried with, he will stop at nothing to get the person he fell in love with, before and after!
In a way I would say this is a toned down Fifty Shades but in all honesty it had more than that. I look now at my ratings of Fifty Shades, and I’m thinking, why? Jessica unites two very distinct personas of passion, love and truth. I look forward to how Jessica will develop their relationship in The Forever of Ella and Micha, coming September 2013
Its safe to say, that NA for me will not stop here…
