Feature & Follow (#6)

Yay! My favourite day of the week!
Feature & Follow Friday is a blog hop that is designed to provide some much-appreciated exposure to the bloggers participating, and to expand their following. Hosted by Parajunkee and Alison Can Read, each of whom feature a chosen blog for the week, it’s an interesting way to get to know one another.

Q: What is the BIGGEST word you’ve seen used in a book lately – that made you stop and look it up? Might as well leave the definition & book too.

A: Now this is a really hard question and one, that to be honest, I really I don’t have an answer too… But I’ll give it a go…
I have two books and or series that I can put on here; One of my books for English Literature was Frankenstein and you can imagine how difficult it was adjusting to the language of YA books to Gothic Novel. This particular word really stumped me:
Physiognomy; Defination – the human face (`kisser’ and `smiler’ and `mug’ are informal terms for `face’ and `phiz’ is British)
I contiously had to keep highlighting and checking the definitions of this book, I don’t know how I could live in
Mary Shelley’s head.
And one other current book, would have to be Fifty Shades of Grey. Now as much as I would like to share with you the biggest word… I can’t because its to embarassing and may not be suited for my blog of all ages. You all know the E L James is a very explicit writer, and the part that majorly stumped me would have to be the Contract and its Conditions!
Did you have the same with Fifty Shades? What’s is your biggest word?  Leave your blog’s FF below and I will be sure to ‘hop’ on over…

There were a couple in 50 shades where I wondered what exactly a certain phrase meant, but refused to Google it because of what might come up…

    My FF.

  2. I just finished the first book and I have to say the contract and conditions was interesting LOL. I felt like I need my lawyer present to explain some stuff to me and by all means I am not stupid just wow.

  3. Hi Emma 🙂 Thanks for stopping by my FF post earlier. Old follower. Physiognomy is the same in French, so I wouldn't have had to look that up. Haven't read 50 Shades of Grey, so I can't comment on that. But 50 Shames of Earl Grey was funny, and it had some fun words as well;)
    I hope you're having a wonderful weekend.
