Showcase Sunday (#14)

Posted November 25, 2012 by Emma in Blog / 19 Comments

Showcase Sunday is a weekly meme hosted by Vicky at Books, Biscuits & Tea.

Its an opportunity to highlight our newest books or book related swag and to see what everyone else received for review, borrowed from libraries, bought in bookshops and downloaded onto eReaders each week.

Well this week was brilliant, let me show you!
For review:

              Hidden by Marainne Curley

What I love about receiving Uncorrected Proofs you don’t judge a book by its cover, but I did find this one in the Press Release and I love it! I can’t wait to get my head stuck in.

Bought:

Starcrossed (Starcrossed #1) By Josephine Angelini

Matched (Matched #1)
By Ally Condie

Until I Die (Revenents #2)By Amy Plum

Anna Dressed in Blood (Anna #1) by Kendare Blake

AND…

Die For Me By Amy Plum

It has been a very, very long time since I have bought any books since the beginning of my blog. I know it’s depressing but I have got very excited with all the packages coming through my door. I know I have so many series to catch-up on and I have way too many to read. But I went book-shopping Friday and missed it  so much that I went into my local bookstore twice and both times I was in there for a least an hour trying to figure what books to get and I got these. Starcrossed is [part of Read-along that myself and couple of bloggers are doing together in the next couple of weeks and I can’t wait to read it! The cover is absolutely gorgeous as well. The Matched series I have seen a lot of brilliant reviews about this and I know Reached is recently coming out soon and I needed to get this book! Now Die for Me and Until I Die by Amy Plum, these are the most beautiful covers I have seen of late and the novel descriptions is absolutely beautiful, I really can’t wait to get stuck in these! And lastly, Anna Dressed In Blood, I’ve been told that I’m one of the last to read this book and I have seen some very interesting reviews about this book, very surreal and has somewhat horror elements to it, which I think I will definitely enjoy!
As you can see the I haven’t got any NetGalley books this week, I have started to restrain myself from the requesting loads of novels as I have way too much to read!
A BIG Thank you to Bloomsbury and of course Waterstones!

Soooo, what do you think? Did you receive any these Books? Have you read these? I would like to know what you thought!

Are you taking part? Leave me link, I would love to see what you received this week!

Happy Reading!

  1. Ah I need to get round to reading Starcrossed, I got it for like 99p in an Amazon Kindle Sale.
Also, so nice to see you went to Waterstones rather than Amazon! I actually work in my local Waterstones so it's always lovely to see bloggers buying there 🙂

  2. Hi! I can't wait for us to read Starcrossed! The Amy Plum books also sound amazing! I read Matched a few weeks and I was very disappointed with it, I was expecting more action. Anna Dressed in Blood looks great…maybe we should do a read-along for that too? :p xxx

  3. Amy Plum's series is AWESOME. The books make me want to go to Paris and never come back. 😛 Anna Dressed in Blood is definitely creepy and I still need to read both Starcrossed and Matched. I hope you enjoy!

You're much better at controlling yourself when it comes to NetGalley. I tell myself I can't request anything until my reading pile is a reasonable size, but it never works out. 😉 Those are some great books, Emma! Doesn't Hidden sounds good? I'm really looking forward to it as it's been a while since my last angel book. Ooh and I hope you like Matched and Anna Dressed in Blood! I really enjoyed them both!

    Have a great week!

  5. I really loved Anna Dressed in Blood, the cover is gorgeous, too. I read Amy Plum's first book, but not the second. Enjoy your reads and thanks for stopping by The Readers Den. 🙂

  6. Hidden looks so good! I'm so jealous 😛

I highly recommend you to read Anna Dressed in Blood soon. I deeply enjoyed it. Too bad, I couldn't say the same with Die For Me. But I hope you'll find it otherwise! ^_^

  7. Eeepp a great haul Emma, I can never restrain myself when I go into Waterstones either, when ever I'm passing by I always say to myself that a quick peek won't do any harm, but I end up leaving with quite a few books! Also it has such a cosy feel to it, I love going in there in the winter months and sitting on the comfy sofas and leaving through the books! I still have to read Starcrossed, I think I read it as soon as it came out but never got around to reading it! I hope you have fun during your read-along! I also haven't read Die For Me either! I hope you enjoy all your books! 🙂

  8. Nice haul.

I was toying with buying Anna Dressed In Blood myself this week and then I saw the trailer for the forthcoming film of Warm Bodies and I decided that I had to buy that book instead.

    Enjoy your reads.

Great books! I really liked Matched. And Anna Dressed in Blood is standing on my to read list, I need to find time to read it.
