Showcase Sunday (#17) – 2013 1st Edition

Posted January 20, 2013 by Emma in Blog / 21 Comments

Showcase Sunday is a weekly meme hosted by Vicky at Books, Biscuits & Tea.
Its an opportunity to highlight our newest books or book related swag and to see what everyone else received for review, borrowed from libraries, bought in bookshops and downloaded onto eReaders each week.
This is my first Showcase edition since before the Christmas. I did take my Christmas holidays for-granted hence not posting a Showcase for quite some time. I have received  a fair few books since then…
For Review I received:
Tempest by Julie Cross
Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Mass
Unremembered by Jessica Brody
All These Things I’ve Done by Gabrielle Zevin
Abandon by Meg Cabot
The Trouble with Fate by Leigh Evans (Not in Picture)
From NetGalley I received:

The Sweetest Dark by Shana Abe
Riptide by Lindsey Schiebe
Dare to You by Katie McGarry (US Cover)
What I bought:
My Signed Edition! 😀
Silence (Hush, Hush #3) by Becca Fitzpatrick
Finale (Hush, Hush #4) by Becca Fitzpatrick SIGNED EDITION
The Immortal Rules by Julie Kagawa
My Soul to Take (Soul Screamers #1) by Rachel Vincent.
I know its been a long time since doing my showcase, and I have missed! As I said before I took my Christmas holiday for-granted and got lots of books read and reviews written. This week, the second week into the 2013 and I received some lovely titles for the forthcoming weeks. I have been admiring the covers of Throne of Glass, even though its a Proof, its still a gorgeous design and I’m reading this next week for definite. I know its in my Currently Reading Sidebar but I couldn’t cope with reading 2 at a time. The other cover is Tempest by Julie Cross, both the Hardcover and Paperback have very different takes on it, but I love it all the same.  I have also received a lot of first books of the series before requesting the sequel which I’m very grateful for. Then there is my signed edition of Finale Eeeeeeeeeeep! I haven’t read most of the series so I bought all of them instead, to encourage me to read them. The best NetGalley received this week has to be Dare to You, I loved Pushing the Limits , I’m still very intrigued to see what the the cover will look like here in the UK!
A big thanks to Pan Macmillan, Bloomsbury, Flux, Random House and Harliquin for sending me these review copies.

Well… What do you think? Have you read any of these novels? I would love to know… Leave me a link to your Sunday Post and I will be sure to see what you received!?

  1. Emma your haul this week is absolutely amazing! Throne of Glass was one of my all time favourite reads last year, so I can't wait to see what you think when you pick it up! All These Things I've Done, Tempest, and Riptide are books I need to pick up asap too! Happy reading! 🙂

  2. I really want to read Unremembered! The cover is really pretty. Tempest is an amazing read and I highly recommend it.
Number 8?! Wow! That's so low! I got my signed copy back in October but it was something like 2000!
You should read The Immortal Rules soon because it is one of my favourite vampire novels. I need someone to fangirl with!! Happy reading!

  3. I'm a huge Meg Cabot fan, but I couldn't get on with Abandon – I think it's because I'm not a PR fan. Can't wait to see what you think of Unremembered. 🙂

  5. I really enjoyed Dare You To and have been meaning to read Tempest for awhile, so I'll be looking out for your thoughts on that one. Throne of Glass was a novel that didn't work out for me, but I know a LOT of other readers loved it, so I hope you do too! 🙂 Happy Reading, Emma!<3

I got my copy of Hush, Hush signed at a book signing in London – was awesomee!
