Title: Teardrop (Teardrop #1)
Author: Lauren Kate
Genre: YA Fantasy
Publisher: Delacorte Books for Young Readers
Release Date: October 22nd 2013

Summary:

Never, ever cry. . . . Eureka Boudreaux’s mother drilled that rule into her daughter years ago. But now her mother is gone, and everywhere Eureka goes he is there: Ander, the tall, pale blond boy who seems to know things he shouldn’t, who tells Eureka she is in grave danger, who comes closer to making her cry than anyone has before.

But Ander doesn’t know Eureka’s darkest secret: ever since her mother drowned in a freak accident, Eureka wishes she were dead, too. She has little left that she cares about, just her oldest friend, Brooks, and a strange inheritanceβ€”a locket, a letter, a mysterious stone, and an ancient book no one understands. The book contains a haunting tale about a girl who got her heart broken and cried an entire continent into the sea. Eureka is about to discover that the ancient tale is more than a story, that Ander might be telling the truth . . . and that her life has far darker undercurrents than she ever imagined. From Lauren Kate comes an epic saga of heart-stopping romance, devastating secrets, and dark magic . . . a world where everything you love can be washed away.

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jill @ Breaking the Spine. To see what your most anticipated novel you waiting for.

This is my first WoW of 2013 and what I way to kick it off…I adore the cover with a passion. The dress into water is stunning… I would love to create something of that intricacy! It’s just beautiful and unique and refreshing, pun intended! I like many others have loved Lauren’s Fallen Series and I really can’t wait to get my hands on this one. It’s something very different from her other plot-lines yet she hasn’t strayed too far from outside her comfort zone. I think this will be a major hit in time to come!

What is your most anticipated and eagerly awaited novel coming up? Leave me a link and I will be sure to pop on over…

  1. Oh I want that. It sounds AWESOME! I've never seen it before but I definitely want to read it now! Great pick and thanks for sharing! I'm adding it on my to-read list now!
Come check out my WOW post.

  2. I can't say that the Fallen series were my favourite books ever. I still need to read the last one but don't feel like getting on to it. This series sounds interesting and I may try it out but am not sure yet. πŸ™‚

  3. The cover is beautiful! While I can't say that I liked her other series, I am intrigued by this book so I might give it a try. πŸ™‚

I'm torn over this one! On one hand, I love the font and the colours (it's a gorgeous combination!), but I wish they hadn't tried to make a dress out of water. :/ I'm not keen on that part. Still, the book sounds super interesting. I had mixed feelings on Kate's previous books, but I look forward to the reviews for this one. πŸ™‚

Great pick, Emma, and thanks for sharing!

  5. JGJRYJENYTTBHDBFGSWT THAT COVER IS BEAUTIFUL!!!! When the publishers first sent me the cover reveal, I couldn't stop staring at it. It looks even prettier now, even though that shouldn't be possible! But oh my gosh, like you said, it must feel amazing to be able to create something so gorgeous. Whoever designed this cover deserves medals and several cookies!

Unfortunately, I only read the first book in the Fallen series and then gave up as I found it soooo tedious! However, this new series from Lauren Kate looks really different so I might give this author another go. To be honest, I'd buy this book simply for the front cover! (I think I'm going against your blog title there, though!) πŸ˜›

Thanks for sharing this with us, Emma! XxXxX

  6. Emma I agree the cover to Teardrop is absolutely stunning, I could probably sit here and stare at it all day. The premise also sounds mysterious yet fantastic! This is a great pick Emma, I never had much luck with Kate's Fallen series, but I hope I have much better luck with this one! πŸ™‚

  7. WOW! This book is beautiful! I still haven't read Lauren Kates's Fallen series, but I'm guessing I need to since everyone is raving about them! I hope you read this soon, Emma πŸ˜€
