NEW FEATURE: Realm of Read-Alongs

Posted March 30, 2013 by Emma in Blog / 13 Comments

Hello Everyone! Today I have a special post to share with you all. We would like to welcome you to our BRAND New Feature:

Realm of Read-Along is a monthly feature hosted by me, Emma, from Never Judge a Book by its Cover and Kyra from Blog of a Bookaholic. We decided to start a meme that would help decrease that ever-growing pile of TBR’s whether they are eBooks, Bought or Borrowed Books and ARC’s.

Each month myself and Kyra will compile a list that will consist of number of titles that we both wish to read together. We will then create a post to showcase the Book of the Month and will include a Linky to those who would like to join in with us. There is no rush to read the book, we just want to share enjoyment of reading between you all.

We also have a Goodreads Group especially for this meme for you to join and discuss were you are currently at in the book and fan girl about it! Those of you who know us on Twitter be sure to tweet how are you are all doing through the book as well.

After the first Read-Along we will then ask what you thought and how could do it better? What do you think of this meme? Would like you to join us? Leave us a comment, we would love to know what you think?

So the Picks for this month are:

Which title would you like to read in April? You can join our GR Group and vote on our poll or you can leave us a comment below.

We would love to hear your thoughts on our meme as well. Be sure to look back soon when we reveal the Book of the Month – April!

  1. I love this new feature. I have joined the group in GR because I think it would be such a fun experience to try a read-a-long! I'm hoping we'll read Just One Day! I'm dying to get my hands on that book but all the other choices are just as great, too! 😀

  2. Great Feature! I have a massive TBR List and I'm currently reading City of Bones by Cassandra Clare. I am longing for a copy of Geek Girl and The Goddess Test is one of my favourite series, hope you enjoy it 😀

  3. EEP!! This sounds amazing! 😀 I love memes but I only take part in one so this one seems perfect. I have a very long TBR pile which is ridiculously out of control >.<
Thanks for creating this new feature, Emma and Kyra! Obsidian is on my TBR pile but I'd be up to reading anything on that list 🙂

  4. I've read Pivot Point, Obsidian, Just One Day and Tempest. Obsidian would be a fun book for you and I think you'd really enjoy it! Such witty and snarky banter! Great idea Emma. 🙂

I think this is a brilliant new feature! Read-alongs are always fun and it's great that you're inviting others to join in. I've read most of your April choices. Obsidian, Just One Day and Pivot Point are all great reads! 🙂

  6. Fantastic new feature, guys! And I'm so happy that two of my best bloggy buddies are the hosts! I will definitely be taking part in these read-along's if I have the book at the time. Thankyou so much for starting this awesome meme, ladies!!! <3

  7. This is great idea ladies! I have so many books to get through and this will definitely help! I'm totally up for reading Tempest, Cinder or StarCrossed! 🙂

  8. I love read-alongs! 🙂 What a great idea. I might join you once but right now I don't have so much time even some of these have been on my list forever! 🙂

I need to participate in more read alongs! Great new feature. I just reread Cinder, which is one of my faves so I'd definitely be up for a read along on it 🙂

  10. Ah this is such a brilliant idea, like a mini book club (which I've always wanted to join)
My picks would be Cinder or Just One Day personally. I've read Geek Girl so I can join on with any discussions o that too 🙂
