Showcase Sunday (#19)

Posted March 10, 2013 by Emma in Blog / 29 Comments

Showcase Sunday is a weekly meme hosted by Vicky at Books, Biscuits & Tea.
Its an opportunity to highlight our newest books or book related swag and to see what everyone else received for review, borrowed from libraries, bought in bookshops and downloaded onto eReaders each week
It’s been another busy couple of weeks for me, both book wise and personally! But coming home with a parcel left on your porch its makes my day!

For Review:
Born Wicked by Jessica Spotswood
Scarlet by Marissa Meyer
Borrowed:
Cinder by Marissa Meyer
As you all may know I’ve done a YA Display (Click here to see the display post) at my Library and I have currently got a Review Competition. I asked a few publishers they could possibly supply some prizes for me… but I never expected these:

I also received signed editions of Young Sherlock Holmes and A Face Like Glass
From NetGalley/Edelweiss:

The Goddess Interrupted/The Goddess Inheritance by Aimee Carter
Bang by Lisa McMann
The Eternity Cure by Julie Kagawa
In comparison to the last Showcase I’d say again  that this is a manageable pile again! I’m trying to get myself into an organisational system of books with my next-to-be-read shelf on GR and finally sorting what to read next without thinking ‘What should I read next’. I’m very excited to start the Blood of Eden series as well as the A Goddess Test series! Its seen to be a productive week on Edelweiss, I’m not usually one for my confirmed request either! With the YA Prizes I was very surprised but don’t worry I will not leave you out! There will be a giveaway very soon!
Thank you to Bloomsbury, PanMacmillan, Penguin, Simon & Schuster, Harlequin!
Well… What do you think? Have you read any of these novels? I would love to know… Leave me a link to your Sunday Post and I will be sure to see what you received!?

  1. Ooh, great books! I must read Cinder and Scarlet soon, I think I'm one of the last people to read them. 😛 I have heard some mixed reviews so maybe that's another reason to get them.

That is SO nice of those publishers to do that! The competition sounds awesome, I hope it gets a good response. 🙂

The Goddess series sounds brilliant and I must read a Julie Kagawa book soon. *sighs* Happy reading, Emma! 🙂

  2. Wow so many great books, your so lucky. How generous of the publishers to send you all of those goodies. The goddess test series is a downright awesome one. Happy reading 😀

  3. Oooh! Born Wicked is amazing! As is Cinder but I still need to read Scarlet! I got Eternity Cure last week and keep meaning to read it because I have waited for AGES to get to it!

Hope the prizes for the review competition go down well! 😀

Great compilation of books this week Emma! Here's my Weekly Highlights.

  4. You're right, book shaped parcels are the best thing to come home to. I think that's why I can never shut myself down for review requests, I'd be so sad. I love Aimee Carter's goddess books but I was a little disappointed in the final instalment. Still worth reading if you are already into it though.

    Great haul.

Looking forward to reading Cinder, and getting hold of Scarlet, after what I've been hearing about it.

I hadn't heard about Bang, or the first book, Crash, and both sound great. So, I've added them on to my Wish List. Thanks for introducing them to me.

Please check out my haul for this week at http://thewanderingbookworm.wordpress.com/2013/03/09/book-haul-showcase-sundayletterbox-lovestacking-the-shelvesbought-borrowed-bagged-9-march-2013/ and enjoy your reads.
