An Update – What's been happening to me?!

Posted June 24, 2016 by Emma in Blog / 8 Comments

Hello Everyone it’s been a while or at least it feels like it to me. I mean my posts have been here there and everywhere, there’s no consistency to my blogging life at the moment which sucks for me as I do enjoy it! Some days I can’t be bothered to write and review and others I just want to write a short review as I really don’t want to do such a long one. Then I question myself because I never get to say everything I want to in a short one. You can tell I’m babbling here, but you know what I mean right!?

I’m still reading, I’m a little slower than usual and I think I reading what I fancy at the mo too. A lot of my posts these day’s on my blog is for blog tours, which although I love doing I find that is all I seem to be doing these day and I need to break that habit. I’ve just finished reading Under Rose Tainted Skies by Louise Gornall which is about mental health, OCD and agoraphobia and I am absolutely loved it. Lately, the likes of Holly Bourne, Louise Gornall, Caitlin Moran they seem to be the books I’m enjoying at the mo a lot. I think for me it’s interesting to see how a minds working and how they differ from every individual.

When I haven’t been reading I’ve been swamped with work which is getting even worse by the day these days and just taking all the enthusiasm I once had for the job. I’m also starting a new qualification soon which will take some of my time too. But aside from the boring work and study, I have been on holiday too for a whole week and it’s been a long time coming for it. It’s just a shame it’s all over now. I had the best week in terms of weather and I did get burnt too. Uh oh. Plus I suffered from prickly heat which was horrible. No tan for me. Haha.

What I’m watching…
So I guess I’ve been binge watching a load of series I love! Especially some Big Bang Theory which I need to catch up on – I stopped at Season 6 can you believe that!!! And I sort of have Netflix now which also eats up my time too. Enjoying so witches as well, the classic ones which are the Charmed ones! And of course Game of Thrones and Penny Dreadful!
What I’ll be reading next:
I recently just got Love Song from my work and this is the first by Sophia Bennett book that I’ve read so I’m hoping it’s a goodin’. Plus you need a good summer read with the terrible England are having – I mean floods, we’ve just had the first day of summer – typical. Anyways, my next current read if What I Thought Was True by Huntley Fitzpatrick, I hoping this is going to be slightly better than the first book! *fingers-crossed* The Witch’s Kiss is for a blog tour that I can’t wait to read and finally book and the best book by all has to be Holly’s latest book which I seriously can’t wait for. Lottie has been such a character from the first two books and I can’t wait to get to know her.
I will be back next week with a review of Under the Rose-Tainted Skies. Until then have a great weekend and happy reading.

  1. I love updates like this, Emma! Your holiday looks beautiful! I'm also watching GoT this season and so excited for the season finale! Enjoy the rest of your holiday, dear, and don't worry about posting–I'm a firm believer in taking time for yourself. 🙂

  2. Oh, that looks so gorgeous! What I wouldn't do to be at a place like that right now. Sigh. I hope you'll get your reading mojo back, Emma!

  3. Love Song was my first Sophia Bennett book too and I loved it – I hope you do too! I really want to read Under Rose Tainted Skies – it looks so good!

  4. I totally agree with what Keertana says above, Emma. Post when you want and what you want. I totally understand work sucking time and life. Hope that gets better for you. Your holiday pic looks lovely! Sorry to hear you got burnt and prickly heat, though. I used to get a sun rash/prickly heat all the time with sun exposure, but my sister found a rememdy: taking PABA supplement (300 mg a day) with B6 (100 m a day) and it worked. You have to take it at least two weeks before heading out into a sunny vacation. I don't want to recommend anything, though, because everyone is different with unique health issues.

I've been watching Walking Dead, and Frasier (90's comedy) of all things, lol! I'd like to see what Penny Dreadful is all about. 🙂

  5. Sometimes we need the time off and we have the energy for what we do, no good to force ourselves to read or to review if we don't want to! *hugs*

  6. Sounds like you're just a little unfocused, which is quite normal in the summer and immediately after a holiday. Don't worry about it – the blog looks awesome, and it looks as though your reading hasn't slowed down. Enjoy your summer – the holiday sure looks pretty 🙂 Hope you had a wonderful time – you deserve it! Hugs
